And a shout out to those of you who've tagged!
Marianne: Hey girl, photos will follow, but can you recommend a good site to upload them to? I hate having to upload one photo at a time and having to resize them all in Photoshop first, it's hella tiring....:(
Steph: Hiya girl! Yup as you can see...settling in alright, no big incidents. :D:D Hope to see you online again soon!
Kox: It's WICKED, mun. I's talk to you online soon, aiiiiight. B)

I gotta get back to preparing for lessons next week, but let me say one important thing:
GONG XI FA CAI!
And it's been a helluva good one for me, so far. We had "reunion lunch" at King Buffet (Chinese food) with Jia Hui, one of the Singaporean grad students originally from SCI, and a few others, and then we went for bubble tea, and this has been the single most wonderful day that I've had since I've come to Ithaca. Especially during the bubble tea at collegetown, before which 7 of us were squished in the car of a girl named Lauren, who's a friend of Ruth's friend and in our Global Studies class, and she and her friend are really lovely people. We crammed into this really small bubble tea shop (the only one in Ithaca) and talked for at least an hour, enjoying the best bubble tea I've ever tasted. And it's been ages since I've had one. Then after we came back to college, Becky, Ruth and I wandered around campus on a photo-trail -- I have to upload these thing soon!
Not to mention, the weather's been GORGEOUS. It's been warm and sunny and just cool enough to feel comfortable in a t-shirt and fleece jacket. It's been a good CNY, and tonight we're topping it off by going for Sushi with Harsha, an Indian girl who grew up in Singapore and is now studying here. :)
I hope you're all having a wonderful Chinese New Year with those you love.
P.S Here are my subjects! In case anyone's, y'know, remotely interested. ;)
Introduction to Global Studies Africa: Politics of Rights and Culture Acting 1 Cinema Production 1 Theatre Production
And I've gotten a role in an upcoming performance of the Vagina Monologues on campus (but I suspect it's got more to do with me being Asian than anything else...cos I mean, who else would you get to read a monologue about Comfort Women? Mm...but no matter), and contributing some material for IC Comics Club's upcoming comic publication...so all in all, I think I'm doing ok. :) Slowly settling in...thinking of people, missing home every once in a while, but I'm glad I'm here. :D

ZOMG I HAVE INTERNET AT LAST!!!!!!
Sorry. Update will follow soon. For now I have to settle some class schedule issues, but I'll be back to give summary of the last few days. 2 things to know though:
1. VIVIENNE'S ALIVE! 2. VIVIENNE'S COLD!
Ok not really. Room nice temperature but it's snowing outside! As in, real snow falling from the sky! Not knee-high slush! Not yet anyway. It's really nice to crunch through (with boots I mean, not eating it, that's gross because they salt the stairs and pavements in the morning to melt the ice and keep them snow-free), when the wind isn't blowing. The wind's a bitch, but no complaints otherwise.
Except adding and dropping classes is giving me a headache. Pray it works out!
If any of you want it, my American cellphone number is +1 607 339 1541.
On a side note, America is shockingly low tech, considering its status as like a global superpower or something. It took FOREVER to get this internet set up. Geezum. >_<
But I'm happy. My digital placebo is here. INTERNET!!!! WHEEE

4 days to go.
Feeling kinda sickish right about now. Stomach not too comfy and been kinda sore throated. Most of my packing's done and I'm down to brass tacks; undergarments, toiletries and other items that I still need now and won't be able to pack till at least Monday. But I should weigh my bags soon. 2 big ones and they feel awfully heavy. >_<
5 months away really isn't that long, that's what I tell myself. And I know I'm going to have a great time when I'm there and settled.
But Rebecca was right...once you sit down to think, and stop being busy, you start realizing how who you're going to miss, and how much. And when this happens I tell myself it's dumb, because hey, quick as a flash I'll be home again, to turn 21, and I'll probably be missing the US a whole lot, despite the joy of coming home.

And on a side note I hope the dog doesn't die in my absence. Or get infected with Avian flu or something and have to be put down. >_< Paranoid speculation.
